For this prestigious building, ACG has won the 1st prize of the International Competition that was organized by Dubai Municipality. The symbolic location of the Central Library on the seashore of Dubai presents itself as a beacon of knowledge and education and as a constant reminder of the city's role as a gateway to culture and trade in the region.

Description:

The project consists of a five star deluxe hotel, 35 villas compound, a boats marina club and ancillary facilities. 210 nos. of basement parking and 46 nos. surface car parking are provided. Approximately 75 percent of site is projecting with the sea forming a peninsula. Most of the site is reclaimed land which originally housed a natural marina.   The proposed resort has one entry and exit for vehicles. As per the urban development context, a pedestrian and cycle path has been provided all along the periphery of the plot. The project is essentially divided into four parts i.e. hotel, villa compound, boats marina and site development and ancillary buildings.

The 24 storey structure provides 94 residential units including VIP penthouses at roof level, and divided into 3 volumes by use of fenestration modeling. An interesting feature is the visual reversal of glazing to the 2 no end volumes creating architectural interest but utilizing a limited series of architectural construction details for commercial benefit.

Description:

The design concept uses two matching, twin forms of sloped volumes, set at opposing ends and opposite sides of a central rectangular mass. The resultant building form is such that the two sloped volumes reflect off each other forming an interesting juxtaposition. The meeting point of the two matching volumes creates a dynamic "point of contact" which gives the building towers a unique character.

This feature is used on both the Corniche and Abu Dhabi City facades so the building is instantly recognizable. The buildings come together, meet at the point of contact and then move apart. Thus the challenging building design brief of two separate but combined buildings is respected.

Located in the prestigious development of Danet-Abu Dhabi, this prestigious residential tower consists of a 17 storey building divided to two L-shaped blocks interlaced around the central core, with its curved and glazed facades fronting onto two main roads, one overlooking the seaside, the other is overlooking the development internal landscape.

The building is topped by a health club with a swimming pool deck and shaded by a sloping canopy. A 2 storey podium provides shops and restaurants and serves as a community hub for the building’s residents. 2 levels of parking are also included in the project.

Description:

The concept design was supplied by DAMAC and ACG provided detail design development and construction supervision services. Located at the entrance of the Business Bay Development of Dubai and facing the Sheikh Zayed Road, Waters Edge is a 23 storey office tower. On the entrance elevation, a translucent glazing façade has narrow wave features from the street level up to the roof.

The multi volumes composed of different angled spandrel panels reduce the height impact of the building to the human scale and provide terraces at different levels. The building is situated between the main road and the lake. At the rear side a commercial arcade is animated by the waterfront promenade.

The building contains offices, a shopping arcade, restaurants, a health club with pool and a roof garden, and is served by three basements with 3 storey podium parking.

Description:

The Pixel Tower, designed by James Law with Plus Properties as the main developers, was conceptualized reflecting state of the art design technology. Situated at Dubai Waterfront, the residential building is an imaginative design to a combination of beachside and urban living of high quality. Pixel Tower comprises G+16 storey residential accommodation on a beachfront site. The total built-up area of the development is 22,500 sq. m.

With an emphasis on social fabric and sense of place, a large scale stepping landscape garden, water feature, shops and restaurants are proposed on the ground level to provide communal amenities for the public and residents alike with the North West corner providing a public piazza. A health club is provided on the second floor and a swimming is provided on the podium roof.

The elevation of Pixel Tower provides maximum shade to the interiors with southern direction, and reduced screening in the northern direction to maximize the sea views. Four levels of basement parking are provided.

Description:

Located at ABU DHABI Breakwater area, the MARINA MALL has quickly become a prime point of attraction and a prominent landmark for local residents and tourists, who enjoy leisurely shopping and family entertainment. The 7,000 m2 graceful tensile structure adds a touch of local culture. The Mall consists of a basement, housing the 2 major tenants and a covered parking, 3 floors to allocate anchor tenants, 180 shops, a food court, 7 specialty restaurants, 9 cinemas and an entertainment complex.

The project is a major extension of the Marina Mall, it almost doubles the size of the existing facility. Two basement levels house exhibition areas, a bowling center and 700 car parking. The ground and first floors allocate main department stores and linear shopping. Under a tensile structure, an outstanding atrium with its unique brasserie, is the heart of the mall. An exceptional feature is provided by a 3,000 m2 dome, with ski slopes and skating rink - A 100 m scenic high tower with a panoramic restaurant, a viewing gallery, gives to this complex a dramatic and most imposing attraction to the city of ABU DHABI.

Description:
